The road develops in hilly terrain in lime-silty formation for 40 % of the total length. The rest of the track develops along the coast and in the esondation plain of the rivers Tunbes and Bolsico.
Category 1a, speed 90 km/h.
The project included diagnostics and rehabilitation designs of minor structures and bridges (416 structures of which 42 bridges), preparation of tender documents.
Rehabilitation of 8 metallic bridges : Tumbes (182,10 m) ; Canoas (33,80 m) ; Plateritos (40,45 m) ; El Rubio (33,45 m) ; Paolo Santo (30,40 m) ; Huacura (33,50 m) ; Gran (25,40 m) ; Zarumilla (33,40 m).
