Project Description

Lot 3 includes two parts:

  • part 1 : identification study for the construction of 10 bridges and paving of RNT12A, between Fort Dauphin and Vangaindrano – preliminary design;
  • part 2 : update of the final design of RN13 between Fort Dauphin and Ambovombe.

The RNT 12 A road, between the town of Taolagnaro and Vangaindrano, part 1, is an unpaved road that, due to the 10 ferryboats located along this route, does not have the possibility to ensure continuity between the two towns. The area of influence of the road is landlocked throughout the year because of road conditions and climate.

The rehabilitation of the road with the construction of 10 bridges will be a positive factor not only for the economic development of the region, but also will be a major improvement for the economic development of the country. The realisation of the 10 bridges and the paving of the section of the RNT 12A, that will link the two towns, will have a direct impact on the economic development of the region, thanks to the reduction of transport times, transport means wear, fuel consumption. It is through cost reduction and qualitative increase of service level and road safety, vehicles and drivers will experience a lower stress level with reference to the use of a road alignment forced to use ferryboats instead of a normal road assuring the crossing of rivers along the whole track and in full safety.
