Project Description

The road is approximately 100 km in length. It starts in Kidira, at the border between Mali and Senegal, at the bridge over the Falemé river, inside the town of Kayes at the beginning of the Kayes bridge over the Senegal river.

The existing road is unpaved and it was built between 1987 and 1992. Since then, no periodic maintenance works were done. Therefore, due to its wear and degradation condition, the road needs to be asphalted.

Core boring for determining the thickness of the road embankment, material quality analysis, laboratory tests (Atterberg limits, Proctor, CBR, Los Angeles, etc.).
