Project Description

The RN 1 is a very important road for interregional relationship and its function is fundamental in the economic development of the country. In the last years, an increase in traffic volume has been registered due to problems in Ivory Coast. Therefore, an urgent intervention is needed in order to make the road in condition to meet the new requirements. It will be necessary a resizing of the road track in order to guarantee a useful lifetime reducing the need of maintenance works at minimum. This processing will have to consider the causes that lead to the present situation, the materials available along the track and their characteristics.

The road between Ouagadougou and Sakoinse has a length of 51.1 km. The study included also the rehabilitation of the road-dike at Ch 1 and Ch 32.
