Project Description

Preliminary and Final Design of the Kayes-Kidira road (94 km) including the design of five concrete bridges and one steel-concrete bridge over the Faleme river (200 m) on the border between Mali and Senegal.

Preliminary and Final Design for the rehabilitation of approximately 300 km of rural roads in the Region of Kayes. Socio-economic and sanitary study in 401 villages of the provinces of Kayes and Yelimane. Supply and assembly of a base camp, two workshops and one geotechnical laboratory in Kayes and two advanced camps. AIC Progetti also provided, with the MAE financial support, machines for the road construction (amount of Lit 8 billions). Direction of works for the realisation of the Kayes-Kidira road, two irrigation schemes and 85 km of tracks. Local teams were constituted and managed by AIC technicians.for the works execution. Design and construction of the bridge over the Falemé river, 200 m long, at the end of the Kayes-Kidira road, at the border with Senegal, to guarantee the road link between the two countries. The works have been regularly completed and approved.  Roads with foundation and base layer made of no stabilized lateritic material, 376.000 m³. Earth movements: 1.385.000 m³.
