Project Description

The National asphalt concrete Road n°1, axis Kinshasa-Tshikapa, is of vital importance on one side for the supply of main involved villages (towns of Kinshasa, Kenge, Masimanimba, Kikwit, Tshikapa) with agricultural products, and, on the other side, for delivering manufacturing products in rural settlements. A great part of this road, mainly the section Batshamba-Tshikapa (233 km), is strongly degraded.

The present project concerns the realization of construction works of the RN1, sketch Loange-Tshikapa, section Loange bridge-Lovua bridge and of 80 km of rural roads, the construction and equipment of a weighing bridge (including 2 mobile weighing bridges), the rehabilitation of socio-economic infrastructures in the involved areas, and the rehabilitation and equipment of the Office des routes offices.

The project influence area is composed by the provinces of Bandundu, West Kasaï and East Kasaï. The RN 1 road is a vital axis for served areas, starting from Kinshasa : Kenge, Masimanimba, Kikwit, Tshikapa, Katanga, Mbuji Mayi.

Lot n.1, between Batshamba and Tshikapa, has been divided in three parts :

  1. a) Batshamba (Ch 0) – Ch 114+004, after the abutment of the Loange bridge, Batshamba side;
  2. b) Ch 114+004, Ch 178+330, abutment of the Lovua bridge, Batshamba side;
  3. c) Ch 178+410, abutment of the Lovua bridge, Tshikapa side, Ch 233+435, exit of the town of Tshikapa.

The project envisages the control of construction works of the lot between Ch 114+004 and Ch 178+330, 80 km of rural roads, a weighing bridge and 2 fixed weighing bridges, parking areas, schools and health care centers, etc.

 

Addendum n. 1 :

Update of tender dossier for sections of RN1 Pont Lovua – Tshikapa, including the construction of the Kasai bridge in Tshikapa and Tshikapa – Kamuesha.

Realization of a pavement evaluation campaign on the asphalted section Kinshasa – Batshamba. The consultant realized the following services: collect and analysis of the existing documentation needed concerning the involved road, survey of the existing pavement degradations, deflexion measurements of the existing pavement, hand test sampling, localization of materials deposits for coating, road diagrams including necessary data on road condition and works to be envisaged, traffic study, pavement predimensioning for heavy traffic with loading of 13 tons, considering induced traffic.

Assistance during the tendering process. Guarantee the control and supervision of construction works of the RN1, sketch Loange-Tshikapa, section Loange bridge–Lovua bridge (63 km) and annexed construction works [rehabilitation of 80 km of rural roads, construction and equipment of a weighing bridge (including the acquisition of 2 mobile weighing bridges) ; rehabilitation of socio-economic infrastructures in the project area and rehabilitation of Office des routes offices];

Make technical prescriptions and other works contract terms be respected; Inspection of works executed according to the rules of the trade and within the established delay.
