Rwekunye–Apac-Aduku–Lira–Kitgum-Musingo Road (350 km)
The major road links are as follows:
- Rwekunye - Apac Link,
- Apac – Aduku - Lira Link,
- Lira - Acholibur and,
- Acholibur – Kitgum - Musingo link
- Olwyio-Gulu-Acholibur.
The existing road is a gravel road located in North Uganda with an average length of about 346km and an average width of 8m from shoulder to shoulder. It starts in Masindi district and passes through Apac, Lira, Pader and Kitgum districts before reaching Tereteinia border point with South Sudan. The entire project road was observed to be in a fair to good condition. It was evident that there were ongoing projects for the maintenance of the project road. These maintenance activities included reshaping and re-gravelling along selected sections giving the road a suitable camber and adequate side drains. Also, it was evident that the ongoing maintenance works were mainly concentrated in the northern part of the road from Lira to Tereteinia.
Acholibur–Gulu-Olwiyo Road (167,1 km)
The major road links considered for this road are as follows:
- Acholibur - Aswa,
- Aswa - Gulu,
- Gulu – Olwiyo.
The project road is a gravel road located in Northern Uganda with an average length of about 145km and an average width of 8m from shoulder to shoulder. It starts in Pader district and passes through Gulu district before reaching Olwiyo in Amuru district.
The entire project road was observed to be in a fair to good condition. It was evident that there were ongoing projects for the maintenance of the project road. These maintenance activities included reshaping and re-gravelling along selected sections giving the road a suitable camber and adequate side drains.
